Minifrag: Say hello to your little gaming resource

Netbooks may be primarily designed as low cost ultraportable devices for connecting to the web and doing light weight computing tasks. But nettops and mini-laptops can also make surprisingly good gaming machines, because you know what the best computer is for playing games on? The one that you have with you.

Blogger Lee Mathews, who is no stranger around these parts, recently launched a new site called Minifrag which is devoted to gaming on small form factor devices including netbooks, nettops, and the new crop of 11 and 12 inch mini-laptops with low power processors from Intel and AMD. A growing number of these 11 and 12 inch models have NVIDIA ION or ATI Radeon HD3200 graphics, which makes them capable of playing many games that would make an Intel Atom powered netbook with integrated graphics sputter.

If you’re interested in a list of games that play well on netbooks with Atom N270 processors, GMA 950 graphics, and 10 inch, 1024 x 600 pixel displays, you might also want to check out our Liligaming feature, and make sure to read the comments, as the Liliputing community has not been shy about offering their own suggestions.

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to our RSS feed, follow us on Twitter, or "like" us on Facebook. Thanks for visiting!

    Thanks for the intro, Brad!

Really looking forward to being part of the netbook blog community. The bloggers and commenters are a pretty cool bunch, IMO. :)

i just wish there was more… content about gaming.

but at least it appears to be proofread and spellchecked ;)

    Heh, me too, Pauli!

Brad kinda blew my cover sooner than I thought he would, and I haven't started downloadable/online games posts yet ;)

Expect to see some on “Four-for Friday”!

Also, there'll be a regular DosBox game feature showing up soon.

Thanks for the link and information. Even though I know of the limitations with netbooks, it is still nice to be able to play games on them too.
