CLEVO M81P netbook stops by the FCC for a visit

Everybody’s favorite accidental netbook promotional agency, the US Federal Communications Commission has published documents (PDF link) related to a new 10 inch mini-laptop from CLEVO. The upcoming CLEVO M81P packs HSPA wireless broadband capabilities, which means there’s a decent chance we’ll see this little guy sold by a US telecom. But that’s about the only thing that makes it interesting.

For the most part, the computer has last year’s specs, including a 1.6GHz Intel Atom N270 CPU, 10.1 inch and 1024 x 600 pixel display. It measures 10.7″ x 7.4″ x 0.77″, which does make it one of the thinnest 10 inch netbooks around, though.

The CLEVO M81P supports up to 2GB of RAM and a 2.5″ hard drive. Interestingly, the user manual specifically recommends using a 5400RPM drive, not a faster 7200RPM HDD.

Is it just me, or does the screen look matte instead of glossy?
