The VIA NetNote is a reference design from chip-maker VIA for a 12.1 inch lapotp using a VIA Nano processor and VIA’s VX855 media processor. The folks at PC Home got their hands on one of these reference notebooks and they put it through the paces by both running a series of benchmarks, and disassembling the NetNote to get a good look at its insides.
As for the benchmarks, the machine got about 5 hours of battery life and outperforming Intel Atom powered netbooks in most areas, especially in graphics and video tests.
The NetNote also has a few interesting features including a built-in TV tuner and the ability to function as an MP3 player even when the laptop is powered down.
