Samsung N510 laptop with NVIDIA ION graphics up for pre-order

The Asus Eee PC 1201N isn’t the only NVIDIA ION powered ultraportable to hit the pre-order phase of its life cycle this week. Several stores also began taking pre-orders for the Samsung N510 recently.

The Samsung N510 has an 11.6 inch, 1366 x 768 pixel display, 1.66GHz Intel Atom N280 CPU and NVIDIA ION graphics. It also features 2GB of RAM, a 250GB hard drive, 802.11b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth, Ethernet, VGA, HDMI, and Ethernet jacks and 3 USB ports. It runs Windows 7 Home Premium and has a 5900mAh battery.

While that all sounds pretty exciting, there is a down side. The Samsung N510 appears to be priced about $100 higher than the Asus Eee PC 1201N, which has similar specs plus a dual core Atom CPU. The Eee PC 1201N is going for just under $500, while the Samsung N510 appears to be selling for between $575 and $583 at the moment.

The Samsung N510 is already available in some parts of Europe.

Seriousy, why even bother with this when you can get the Asus UL20A for abt $506 (with the Amazon cert).

Netbook manufacturers are pretty stupid with their pricing. The N510 and Eee PC 1201N are doomed for failure with such high price. It should be $399

  • MiniMax

You forgot one important upside: The N510 is th only available 11 or 12-inch netbook with a matte display in a matte body. And it has a very good, sturdy keyboard.

  • michael

yeah, i agree. I wish all notebook and netbook manufacturers give people to choose matte display. To me, its much better.

well.. N510 and EeePC 1201N both have a nice Geforce 9400m, but Asus UL20A have a Intel GPU :-/
