In Ubuntu I have use the hardware switch to shut off wireless on the Mini 311 if I want to suspend or hibernate. It's a slight pain, but not too much of a hassle. Apple should allow it since there are those will do it anyway. It is not like they are not buying the os and installing (most of them anway) and Apple does make money off selling the os by itself.
