An N280 certainly would have been appropriate, but as far as the RAM goes, welcome to the Atom N/Win 7 Starter licensing rules.

What someone ought to be doing is offering a sub-$500 10.1″ CULV system — other than the screen, same basic specs as the Aspire 1410.

I'm sure they're afraid of the market confusion with cheaper netbooks, but I'm sure there would be 10″ fans who would jump at the chance to get a faster system. For that matter, a faster 8.9″ system would be a nice unit, as well.

I like how the “performance fokused” 1005HA-H will have a N270 Atom and 1 Gig of RAM! Woohoo! Sigh.
