Hey Brad, I've seen yet another revision of the Acer 1410, the AS1410-8373. There is no listing for it (yet) on Acer's US site. But it is on sale online at Fry's Electronics (http://www.frys.com/product/6099268) and at J & R Music World, and a couple of other places. It looks like the original config of the 1410 with the Core 2 Solo, 250GB HD, etc, but running Windows 7. Available in blue only, unless there is another model number for this that I haven't found yet.

Fry's is selling it for $419.99 Have you any additional info on this?

I've been reading a lot of user reviews, and some of the newer units with the Celeron's apparently not only have a smaller HD (160gb vs. 250gb), RAM is now in two 1 gig sticks, and no microphone.

What's your opinion about the dual core celeron vs. the Core 2 solo? If I'm reading Intel's website correct, they seem to give the nod to the Core 2 solo over any celeron.

Hi!

I would like to buy an Acer 1410 but I came from Hungary so the hungarian keyboard is really important for me -> mostly i'm focusing to these letters: “á” “ó” “ö” “ő” “ú” “ü” “ű” “í”
I would appreciate if somebody who has an 1410 could check me the keyboard.

You're right. It looks like Acer lowered the hard drive capacity when
switching processors. The original Core 2 Solo version had a 250GB hard
drive, but the new model has a 160GB hard drive. I'll update the
description.

Hey congrats….I am really quite impressed that model but I recently came across one of the Acer products, Acer 5738 and really stunned by its specifications and performance. It has impeccable features and the sound quality is amazing. Moreover, it is not such a good idea to go by advertising claims alone and it is also necessary to first check out different manufacturers and sees what’s on offer before making a considered decision. It should give you peace of mind that Acer is a worldwide company and it is known for providing practical and first-rate solutions for the marketplace. I think, where Acer scores over other laptops is more value for money

There is an error in your product description. You incorrectly indicate that the hard disk drive is 250GB. It is in fact, 160GB.

Also, in response to Psmoove, the 2GB comes as 2x1GB modules.

Could you let us know whether the 2GB memory is a single module or is it 2 x 1GB modules occupying both banks? I sure hope it's a single module just like the Core Solo version…

Can you take a picture of the keyboard from further up? I ask because the press shots all have the weird over-sized enter key, whilst your model appears from this angle to have a US-sized enter key.
