I don't get it why people should pay that much for a laptop that they won't use at its full potential. But I do love discounts and if you want more information on discounts, coupon codes and stuff you should try the easysaver program.

It depends: a 128GB SSD is a pretty spendy piece of gear in its own right, and the ultra widescreen display probably costs a good chunk of change as well.

But beyond that, 1.4 pounds is completely insane. In order to get there, you are using some really exotic parts that you won't find in any other netbook.

Is it worth it to spend $1000 on a netbook? Depends. If it will run all the apps you need, you spend 20 days a month on the road, and you can live with the battery life? Quite possibly.

If they offered that deal on the base model, bringing the price somewhere near the netbook realm, I'd pick one up in a heartbeat. I love the size, weight, and screen resolution. But for those specs, even $1000 is laughably high.
