zhongchi zc-a80While sometimes it feels like every netbook in the US has the same specifications (10 inch screen, Atom N270 processor, 1GB of RAM, and 160GB hard drive), Chinese PC makers are busy breaking the mold. The latest trend seems to be mini-laptops with 11.1 inch displays. The latest entry is the Zhonchi ZC-A80 which has an 11.1 inch, 1366 x 768 pixel display.

The laptop also has a rubberized case which should give it a bit of protection against scrapes, scuffs, and falls. In general there’s a difference between rubberized and ruggedized though, so I wouldn’t recommend running the laptop over with a car or anything.

The rest of the specs are back in familiar territory. The Zhongchi ZC-A80 has a 1.6GHz Intel Atom N270 CPU, 1GB of RAM, 160Gb hard drive, VGA output and 3 USB ports. It weighs just over 2.6 pounds.
