Maybe it is just too awkward, but one thing all these tablets are missing is some form of camera. Why in the world would you need a camera? Well, originally, I was thinking digitizing slot, but I've found from experience that a 3.2 MP camera with reasonable optics can "photocopy" a magazine article with enough resolution to read or print full size.

I guess my use model would be to have this replace a lab notebook/journal/whatever. You could write in it, draw in it, paste pictures that you took, etc. At least, that's what I'd like to see!

Even if you don't like CE, I bet that someone will have an ARM-based Linux distro running on this in no time flat.

This is the right size in my view. 5" a bit too small and 9" (Archos, Apple's alleged tablet etc) is too big.

Nothing wrong with CE. Some really good devices use it...

I was getting all excited until I read those two letters...CE. At least we are getting closer every day to a good and cheap mini ARM tablet.

It should also run Opera Mini, which is great on WinMo. At 0.55" thick and under a pound -- and with HDMI out -- this could be a nifty little gadget.

At $299 or less (taking out VAT and the Euro import tax), this is enticingly close to what I would pay just to have a cute little tablet, even though I can't think of any reason in the world why I need one.
