That shot must have been a staged, photo-op -
Nobody could work on a desk that clean!

Now if we where to see "the real desk" (probably in
the next room) - -
The one with the wild stack of intermixed product
brochures, sticky notes everwhere and NetBooks. . .

But a nice "photo-op" shot just the same.

Nice way to cover a desk! At least when they all have similar performance specs you can focus on the other details of the machines when you review them.

I don't know why you are calling it a dinosaur.

I keep wanting to upgrade my 1000H also, but besides the exterior, most netbooks out there have similar specs. I am looking forward to the ten inch touch screen from asus and pineview, but besides that nothing out there nowadays shouts 'upgrade'.

what version of the lenovo s12 have you got, i really want to see a review of the ion version of this or the samsung n510? i think its the n510, the one with ion in ith at any rate to see how these compare battery life wise

Oh yeah, that's exactly the reason I haven't upgraded yet. But in a
market that's only existed for about 2 years, I still think of a year
old computer as ancient.

My trusty old 1000H has a 1.6GHz Atom N270 CPU, and 1GB of RAM just
like all the new kids. And it's got 802/11b/g/n, and Bluetooth which
is nice. But it has a 4-5 hour batter while the newer versions can
often get 8+ hours. And it's kind of big and heavy as netbooks go.
It's also saddled with the small, awkward right-shift key, but that's
never bothered me as much as it does some people.

I might pick up an Eee PC 1000HE battery soon to give it a little more
life. Or I might break down and upgrade before the holiday season.
I've got a 17 hour plane ride planned in November and it would be nice
to have enough battery power on hand.

This is the Intel Atom/GMA 950 version of the Lenovo IdeaPad S12.
Lenovo hasn't released the ION version yet, although I'm going to see
if I can get my hands on the VIA Nano version at some point.
