Protect your data… with a USB key combination lock

  • Email

brando usb lockThere are lots of ways to protect your data. You can encrypt your hard drive, password protect your computer, or use biometric security measures. Or if you want to be really obvious about it, you could use a highly visible padlock that essentially advertises that it would be pointless for anyone to steal your stuff because it’s not going to be much use to them anyway.

Brando’s new 3 digit combination lock for USB flash drives takes the latter approach. Basically you just slap this lock on a USB stick and spin the numbers, and it’ll be a lot tougher for anyone to access your data without the correct combination.

The lock should be available in mid-September and it will sell for $10, or you can pick up 2 for $15. It’s a bit silly looking, but the price ain’t bad.
