The Jolicloud is forging ahead with its cloud-focused operating system for netbooks. The latest release is Jolicloud Alpha 2c, and it fixes a number of issues that should help performance on several netbook models. For instance, there’s an updated WiFi module for HP and Dell netbooks, and sound should be working on HP Mini 1000 and Compaq Mini 700 netbooks.

The latest version also features fixes for WiFi, audio, and microphone issues on a number of other netbook models. You can find a more detailed list at the Jolicloud blog.

One of the more exciting features is support for overclocking and underclocking the Intel Atom CPU on a number of models. And the next major Jolicloud release is scheduled to include a new kernel that’s been optimized for Atom processors and which could lead to bootup times as quick as 10-15 seconds.
