Sony Vaio W extended battery, promo videos from the netbook’s designers

vaio w extended battery

The promotional images of the Sony Vaio W that hit the web yesterday showed a netbook with a 3-cell battery. But the Vaio W will also be available with a higher capacity 6-cell battery. The folks at IT Media have snapped a few photos of the netbook with the higher capacity battery sticking out of its backside. It’s not the most attractive thing I’ve ever seen, but it should double the computer’s battery life, letting it run for at least 5 hours or so on a charge.

In other Vaio W news, Sony added two videos to its official YouTube channel yesterday. One features a conversation with the netbook (or “internet book,” as Sony calls it) designer, while the other features the engineer behind the Vaio W. You can check out both videos after the break.

Ah yes, the mighty Sony. Their equipment is sold at a premium price because of their superior quality and style. Just look at the seemless integration of a 6 cell battery into their “internet book”.
