Until there's new hardware and/or a new OS, there's not much to do differently anyway, given the stringent restrictions on innovation forced by Intel's policy on Atom N and Microsoft's policy on XP.

Meanwhile, there's a ton of room for innovation in the $500-800 range, for systems like Acer's Timeline 1810T. Systems that are still very small and lightweight, but that pack more power. If this kind of machine steals some of the high-end netbook market, we might even see more 9" netbooks again, as the segment returns to its roots.

[...] Finally, the industry pauses to catch its breath. With Intel taking a bit longer than expect on the Pine Trail-M platform (smaller, faster Atom processors), DigiTimes reports that netbook powerhouses Asus and Acer will be waiting until 2010 to introduce new models of netbooks.
