Medion Akoya Mini E2076 D Nettop: Rebranded Pegatron ION nettop

medion akoya mini e2076Medion is slapping its name on the Pegatron ION powered nettop that started making the rounds earlier this year. It should be out in Europe soon. Hopefully another distributor will bring a similar model to market in the US.

Pegatron may be a subsidiary of Asus, but the Medion Akoya Mini E2076 looks a whole lot sexier than any Asus-branded nettop. On the inside, it packs a 1.6GHz Intel Atom 230 CPU and NVIDIA graphics as well as a 160GB to 320GB hard drive, 1GB of RAM, WiFi, and 6 USB ports. A dual core version with an Atom 330 CPU is also expected.

On the outside, the nettop just looks sleek, with a clear plastic base, stylish LEDs, and a super-thin design of just 6.7″ x 6″  x .8″.

Not bad looking. The base is functional looking–not totally arbitrary like the Eee Box and not totally slab-sided utilitarian like the MSI Nettop.

Also, glossy black makes more sense on a nettop than a netbook, except for people who fondle their computers ;)
