While some folks are working on netbooks that can fold up and fit in your pocket, the LG X120 Levi’s Edition isn’t one of them. Rather, this computer is basically a standard LG X120 netbook with two things that set it apart from the crowd:
- It features Levi’s branding and a drawing of a pair of jeans on the lid.
- It comes with a denim slip cover that is either made of recycled jeans, or made to look like it’s made from recycled jeans.
I like the slip cover idea, and kind of hope that Levi’s, LG, or someone else decides to sell similar cases as a standalone product. It would be especially cool if it actually is made of sturdy, but recycled blue-jeans material (assuming someone has taken the time to wash said jeans, eliminating any odors from previous occupants).
But as for the netbook itself? The only reason I’d carry around a netbook with an ad for a clothing company emblazoned across the top is if that clothing company subsidized the cost of the netbook. And while I haven’t seen any word on pricing, somehow I doubt that the Levi’s Edition is selling for less than the standard LG X120.
