Got an S12 just a couple of days back, and I've got no complaints. I love the 12.1″ display which also seems to be very sharp, and the full-sized keyboard. The battery life is great, and I even got an extra battery thrown in, on the house. All in all, a very 'comfortable' netbook to use. IMHO, 10″ netbooks are simply too impractical.

Does the touch pad disable when you plug in an external mouse? It doesn't on my Samsung NC20 (nor my NC10), which is really annoying. Also, the NC20 keyboard layout is whacky. They just didn't manage to fit the last key in next to the “1″ on the very top, so they moved it to the Windows key, which means they had to move the Windows key to the right side of the space key, which means they had to move the… oh, I totally lost track. Anyway, the control/fn key is bearable by comparison.

I have been typing for over 50 years. I find that with the S12 my fingers hit the wrong keys. Are they spaced differently than a regular desktop IBM computer.

just wanting to confirm, it's $500 because intel charged lenovo for putting an n270 in a netbook bigger than 10.1 inches, yes?
