The AspireRevo has an Intel Atom 230 CPU which is single core.

Which means the Gateway QX2800 is... you guessed it, more than an AspireRevo with a light coat of Gateway branding.

I remember in the early 1990s when Gateway was THE computer to buy. You would see those 'cow' boxes everywhere. At college you would see stacks of those boxes being moved all around campus by UPS guys in brown shorts because students, faculty and the institution itself bought so many.

Gateways were inexpensive, sturdy, and for their time (despite being beige) were somewhat stylish. I remember ordering my third computer over the phone with a Computer Shopper in my lap from Gateway 2000. I also remember getting two or three hand me down Gateways over the years. I never had a problem with a Gateway computer, they lasted forever for me. I think the last one I curbed because I had two other newer computers...not because it broke...it was just a 486DX that I had no use for in 2004.

It is sad to see Gateway fall so far.
