Extended battery for the Gigabyte TouchNote T1028

t1028 extended battery

While the Asus Eee PC T91 convertible netbook has been getting a lot of attention over the last few months, it wasn’t the first netbook with a tablet-style touchscreen to hit the market. Gigabyte has been putting out convertible netbooks since last year. The latest is the TouchNote T1028, which features a 10 inch display that can be folded down over the keyboard for use in tablet mode.

Chippy at UMPC Portal has been using one for the last few months, and says it’s one of his favorite netbooks. There’s just one problem: The battery is only good for about 3 hours. So he picked up an extended battery, which bumps the run time up to over 5 and a half hours. That’s at least as much battery life as you’ll get from the Asus Eee PC T91, even though the Gigabyte TouchNote has a larger screen and a faster processor.

The battery does jut out from the back of the unit a bit, but it’s far from the ugliest extended battery I’ve seen.

You can pick up the extended battery from MobilX.
