As others have said it's about time the netbook manufacturers kept up with technology let alone make advances. It's not surprising that mr jobs has slated the pc world in his introduction of the ipad. My current netbook is over two years old and has all the same tech as can be found in new models; according to moore's law there should be something at least twice as good on the market by now for the same money... rant over, soapbox put away now :)

I would be more inclined to use the netbooks with a screen resolution of greater than 1024X600 have been using the HP mini 1000 as a light surfing tool but it is impared and can not use it for business due to the screen resolution will not alow for connection and applications on my citrix servers.. Have had the opportunity to use and review the 2133 for a few days and the resolution even on the 8.9" screen with 1280X768 was fantastic .. too bad those only had the ULV Via Processor ... otherwise may have kept it ... still looking for HP's 2140 at a decent price with the 1366X768 screen.. So bring on the NetBooks with higher resolution ... Even Sony could do it 5 years ago with the PCG-TR3AP .. why can't manufacturers do it now????

Bring it on it's about time ! 1024x600 is the reason I haven't purchased a "netbook" to replace my R6 yet.

I think it's about time. I didn't see the point of having a 10" display having the same resolution as an 8.9" display.

i've concluded that i don't want anything denser than an 8.9" 1024x600 or an 11.6" 1366x768... which, for ~10", would be something like 1152-1200x640-675ish display. 135dpi is a good limit.

This is mainly welcome news, though I personally find the dot pitch quite fine enough on 9/10-inch devices, so wouldn't be too bothered myself. Ultimately, sounds rather like Intel realising ARM is very soon going to steal a march on them for smaller devices if they don't show a bit more flexibility - better to have a more loosely controlled market than none at all.
