You should have mentioned that there is only RAM Slot. Coz after I did the entire thing I ended up finding that I had a 1GB Ram card and a 1GB already installed. I just changed them so I felt good after doing the effort!!! I feel stupidly numb after your thorough explanation and very sleepy… Almost.

when i took mine apart to look around inside, the palm rest on mine was pretty easy to snap up without breaking any clips. it is firmly in place too.

i just used an old credit card and maybe a knife to start it without damaging it like a screw driver would.

i'm looking forward to upgrading my ram soon. I dual boot windows 7 and also mac leopard, and it would be nice to have a little speed boost on both os's

Well, it was 27 minutes (roughly) because I monologued a bit, but I went slow, and also that was both teardown and rebuild. I could have done it in maybe 15 minutes. Getting quite good at it now.

As far as why? To be able to first of all, and second, it is a cheap performance boost.

Not hard at all, just time consuming. Hardest part is getting the damn palmrest up.

more ram is a cheap speed upgrade for many operating systems.

Excruciating would be the word for it.

Why would I want to do this? Why would I just not do this to my worst enemy's computer! I AM ADDING MORE RAM TO THIS NETBOOK TO…. crush my enemies, see them driven before me, and to hear the lamentation of their women!!!

now, i can't see video from here… but how on earth can it take that long to pop the mobo out of a laptop? was this done extra slow for the sake of the camera?
