TEC’s Lingo mouse is a tiny mouse for your tiny laptop

Nothing makes your tiny netbook look ridiculous like plugging in a full sized accessories. So if you prefer a mouse to the touchpad on your netbook, you might want to think about investing in a travel mouse. They generally take up less space than their full sized counterparts and they look a whole lot less silly plugged into a laptop with a 9 or 10 inch screen. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a travel mouse smaller than the TEC Lingo. At least not a wireless one.

The Lingo comes in black or white, and measures just 27.5mm x 60mm x 19mm (1.1″ x 2.4″ x .75″) and weighs 23 grams, or about 8/10ths of an ounce. It has a range of about 30 feet and should get about 15 hours of battery life. It should be available in Japan next month for about $50.

My Think Outside travel mouse is a little bigger, but it has bluetooth, so it doesn't require a dongle… but I never use it because it's one more thing to carry and fiddle with and probably wouldn't work very well using the side of my leg as a mousepad

I suggest the Logitech Nano VX. It's receiver is majorly small and sits almost flush in the usb port so you don't need to ever take it out.

And the mouse battery life lasts 6 months! Now thats good value!

Hm – my vote goes for my current mobile mouse, the Mogo x54… fits/charges in the ExpressCard 54 slot, connects via Bluetooth – can't ask for much more!

For my small notebook, I prefer a small, wired LASER mouse.

Wireless mice are suitable for desktops, with bigger screens! With my deteriorating eyesight, it’d be impractical to use my wireless mouse some 10 to 20 feet away from my notebook.

Wired mice are typically cheaper , with no batteries to worry about and typically lighter and hence more practical for notebook usage, in my opinion.

A normal optical mouse has problems with white and shiny surfaces, a real irritant for me. Hence a laser mouse is important.

Main issues with wireless mouse include short battery life and missing transceiver(dongle).
Now, a wireless mouse with an integrated MP3 player will be a power hungry monster! Figure the power will be completely drained with just an hour of playing MP3 songs! The 14-15 hours of battery life stated in the specs assume both mouse and MP3 usage in total. That’s because the mouse uses much less power. Can’t imagine having to charge my mouse every couple of hours!!

Some of you may prefer an integrated Fridge-TV. Personally, I prefer a separate fridge and a separate TV. Incompatiable forced marriages usually don’t work very well!

This cannot be the smallest mouse around! 'Cos I own a mouse much smaller than this one

Main problem with bluetooth mice is the higher power consumption, which translates to shorter battery life, and the performance can be choppy at times. That may change in the future, but I'm not in the rush to buy one now v;-)

You are right on most counts. But I think the lack of a wire makes up for A LOT when you talk about all of the other wireless options out there. I don't even bother with a mouse I just use my touch pad, so what do I know.
