Forums down for maintenance

I had to take the Liliputing Forums down for maintenance due to a security issue. I hope to have them back up and running sometime next week. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Sometime next week? I hope they do not have to be down that long, I just made “super hero”.

  • BoloMKXXVIII

What do you think took them down in the first place Mike?
You making Hero Member is the security issue Brad mentioned!
    ;)

  • Mikez

That was probably the cause – ;)

Brad is probably hoping a few-day's wait will help prevent Mike's head size from reaching critical mass.

Maybe this week, if Brad gets a chance.
These “forum withdrawal” pains are becoming almost tolerable.

Lots of news out there too. From “Bing” to iriver to Android on Ubuntu.

  • lenox

That was probably the cause – ;)

We could just use this thread as an impromptu forum.
Here's my first post, in the General Discussion/Off-Topic Gripes and Moans category:

Subject: “Broadband in the US sucks”

Here's an article from ExtremeTech from 3 weeks ago but still pertinent if you've missed it:
    http://www.extremetech.com/article2/0,2845,2346…

I've been wondering how to best check my broadband speed and will try the tool the author used when I get a chance (the Java-based tool at http://www.dslreports.com/tools
