Asus Eee PC T91 FCC

The Asus Eee PC T91 convertible tablet style netbook is due out any day now. And the FCC page for the computer has been updated with a few new external photos and a whole slew of images of the mini-tablet’s insides.

As you can see in the image above, some models will come with GPS receivers. There’s also a spot for a SIM card, which means the netbook can accommodate a 3G modem as well. It looks like the RAM is upgradeable, and jkkmobile points out that there should be room for 3rd party SSDs if you want to void your warranty and replace the internal storage. But while the RAM and storage are removable and upgradeable, the battery is not.

Update: Somehow I missed this at first, but the user manual is also now available for download from the FCC web site (PDF Link).

Can you explain why the battery not being removeable is such a big deal? Seems to me that the batteries last about as long as the laptop, so that you're as likely to be replacing the entire laptop as just the battery. Or are you more concerned about being able to extend usage by swapping out batteries? If the battery is good for 8-9 hours a pop, seems like that would be enough. But then, I'm a newbie, which is why I'm asking…
