Sure, we already saw pictures of the Asus Eee PC 1008HA with its top off courtesy of the FCC last week. But it’s always so much more satisfying when a hardware hacker rips apart an actual production unit to see what’s on the inside. And that’s just what the folks at Netbook Italia did.
The Eee PC 1008HA is the thinnest netbook with a 10 inch display in the Eee PC family. But Asus still makes room for a 2.5″ hard drive, which means it should be relatively easy to upgrade the HDD or replace it with an SSD as long as you’re cool with taking the machine apart and voiding your warranty. It’s also not that difficult to replace or upgrade the RAM. The computer can reportedly handle up to 2GB of memory.
