1005haAsus hasn’t yet announced any netbook called the Eee PC 1005HA, but the company does have a listing for the Eee PC 1005HAB on its support site. Unfortunately there are no files or support documents available yet. But several online retailers are taking pre-orders for the netbook, and if their information is correct, the laptop will be virtually identical to the Asus Eee PC 1008HA with one notable difference: The Eee PC 1005HA will feature a 6 cell removable battery.

The Eee PC 1008HA is the thinnest and lightest 10 inch laptop in the Asus Eee PC family. But the netbook was designed with a built in battery that cannot easily be replaced or upgraded. This has drawn some criticism from computer users who actually like to have a little bit of control over their computers, but it’s not clear if Asus is responding to critics with this new model or if it was planned all along.

Of course, the Eee PC 1008HA hasn’t even hit the streets yet in most parts of the world, so it’s a bit early to be playing the guessing game about a computer that may be its successor.

  1. didn’t they just say they were going to stop introducing so many freakin models?

    1. I guess those already in the pipeline will stil be released. 😉

  2. If the battery life is anywhere close to the 1000HE this is gonna be a winner.
