definitely different from aspire D250/150. It has 11.6″ WSVGA screen, HD, 160GB HDD, 1GB DDR2 RAM, 1.33GHz, Intel Atom (i forgot what type, but it's not N280).

You know what? Too bad UMD is dead. Even killed they are far better then these Vmedia discs. The Universal Media Disc (UMD), as most people might remember, is an optical disc medium developed by Sony for use on the PlayStation Portable. It can hold up to 1.8 gigabytes of data and Sony had worked out the tech for writable UMDs as well. (Actully SOny had tech to put even more on a disc thus if the techj had been supported we';d all ready have a better format then these Vmedia doo-dads.

Then again I think putting any sort of optical media out on netbook is just too short tem to be useful. Tossing out new fomats is just a bad idea unless you have the money, power, and backing for the long term.

It is a safe bet this format will never take hold, so forget finding any content offered for sale. This would be as dumb as introducing a new high density mini-disc format. Oh wait, that's what they are doing and they don't even have Sony's marketing muscle. And this minidisc has the exact same 1GB that Sony was selling in a RW format years ago as MD-HD (and a very slightly modified form is the media for the PSP) only the media is a little bit smaller, understandable considering the several years that have passed.
