Stone launches the Neo 101 netbook

stone-neo-101UK computer maker Stone is launching its first netbook, the Stone Neo 101. And there’s really not very much setting it apart from the competition.

Take a look at the specs, and you’ll see what I mean:

  • CPU: Intel Atom
  • Display: 10.1 inch, 1024 x 600 pixels
  • Wireless: WiFi and optional 3G module
  • Webcam: 1.3MP
  • Expansion: 2 USB ports, ExpressCard/34 slot,
  • Weight: 1.3kg or 2.9 pounds
  • Battery: 4 cells
  • Price: £275 excluding VAT
  • Warranty: 3 years

I suppose ExpressCard slots are still relatively rare in netbooks, but the Neo 101 isn’t the first mini-laptop to have one. The HP Mini 2140, and all three of Gigabyte’s new models have them. The 3 year warranty is nice though.

I would say “Warranty: 3 years” sets it apart!

Indeed – That “3 year warranty” should be in bold, red, letters.
