Acer held a press event in New Jersey this evening where the company unveiled about 20 new products, including several items we’ve been hearing about for weeks. At the top of my list are the AspireRevo nettop, which is a small form factor desktop PC with an Intel Atom CPU and an NVIDIA GPU and Acer’s new 10.1 inch and 11.6 inch Aspire One mini-laptops.

The AspireRevo is the first computer built around the NVIDIA Ion platform, which bundles an Intel Atom processor with a higher performance NVIDIA graphics processor. In this case, the AspireRevo has a 1.6GHz Intel Atom 230 CPU and a GPU that NVIDIA claims is powerful enough to playback Blu-Ray movies or modern video games like Call of Duty 4. NVIDIA says it offers graphics performance that’s 5-10 times faster than what you’d get from the integrated graphics solution Intel users for most Atom CPUs.

The nettop also has up to 4GB of RAM, up to 250GB of hard drive space, HDMI and VGA outputs, 6 USB ports, and a 4-in-1 card reader. It runs Windows Vista Home Premium or Basic and should be available this summer. No word on pricing yet.

Acer’s new netbooks and mini-laptops all come in 10.1 inch and 11.6 inch sizes. No 9 inch models were announced today (despite a recent FCC filing). Several are also being released under Acer’s Gateway brand. There aren’t a lot of details available about these new netbooks and mini-laptops at the moment, but based on the pictures at Gizmodo, it looks like Acer has been holding back on us. In addition to the recently semi-unveiled Aspire One D250 and Aspire One 751, there seem to be a few models with entirely (or at least somewhat) different case designs, touchpads, and keyboards.

The company also introduced several new notebooks with screens ranging from 13.3 to 17.3 inches and starting prices between $699 and $899. A number of these models will be thin and light machines with Intel’s new Consumer Ultra Low Voltage processors which should help the netbooks achieve 8 hours or more of battery life.
