Apple may not look too kindly on hackers’ efforts to get OS X up and running on non Apple hardware. But Apple co-founder, and Dancing With the Stars contestant Steve Wozniak doesn’t work for Apple anymore. And he seems to think netbook hackintoshes are pretty cool. Or at least that’s what he told one Boing Boing Gadgets reader while autographing his Dell Inspiron Mini 9 netbook running OS X.
Of course, having Woz sign your netbook doesn’t make it a Macbook Mini. Neither does slapping an Apple sticker over the still-visible Dell logo. But there are ways to make a fakebook look more authentic.
Until Apple gets around to launching a 9 or 10 inch netbook with a sub-$500 price tag, I guess a hackintosh is the next best thing. Or rather, a hackintosh netbook signed by a co-founder of Apple is the next best thing.
