Samsung N110 available for pre-order

  • Email

samsung-n110Buy.com is taking pre-orders for the upcoming Samsung N110 netbook. The N110 is an incremental update to Samsung’s popular NC10 mini-laptop. The new netbook has rounded corners instead of the sharper edges on the NC10, and the N110 has a 6 cell battery that reportedly lasts for up to 9.5 hours.

While Samsung hasn’t announced an official release date yet, the company is preparing to push out the N110 soon, and will likely replace the older NC10 with this model. It looks like the two computers will be similarly priced. Buy.com is charging $441.99 plus free shipping.

Very nice laptop, it's probably the only one that can go head to head with the 1000HE… but at 100$ more, it's a though sale.

No way, the original unit was better. The new N110 unit can only address 1GB of system RAM unlike the older model which could recognize and use 2 GB.

Now why is this important when the new unity use a different GPU, but it a is GPU that can share system RAM, and can share its up to 2GB….but you can't use 2GB now can you. That means the better GPU is actually going to work not much better the current unit.

Also the new unit degrades the sound output on each speaker by 0.5 watt. That least on paper that is a downgrade on audio and should not be tolerated on a system that had a weak sound system to start with.

So that is two strikes down, and what you get is a glossy screen…eww, slightly more battery life…30 minutes or less really, and a slightly enlarged touch pad…but not really so big to make a difference.

It really seems like this unit sis just cheaper to make. They added a few cosmetic touches, but I’m bettering this sis a better deal for Samsung not a better more powerful system for the end user. BUYER BEAWARE!

  • another coward

the 1Gb memory limit was a mistake on the samsung spec page
it's 2 GB max, same as the nc10
