Robe:Do turns your netbook into a diminutive butler

robot

It can be so hard to find good help. Fortunately, robots never complain. Well, the real life ones anyway. In science fiction they do nothing but.

Anyway, Robe:Do offers a line of programmable robots designed to use your netbook as a brain. Just plop your tiny notebook on the cart and issue some orders, and the Robe:Do will do your bidding. After the break you can see a video of a dude sending a message from his cellphone to the robot telling it to fetch him some popcorn. Of course, with a starting price of $1449, plus the price of a netbook, you’re going to have to eat a lot of popcorn before this thing pays for itself.

There is only one word to describe this… COOL!

Ah, but the concept. To heck with the cost, the concept is important.

It takes significant computer power to run anything other than the
simplest ROV – showing that common NetBooks are up to task – that
has got to be significant. Their is a lot of computer power in even
the cheapest of the common NetBooks these days.
