Liliputing on TechVi video show

  • Email

techviMy colleague Randall Bennett launched a new tech video show recently called TechVi, where he invites bloggers, journalists, and tech industry folks to discuss the technology-related stories of the day. This afternoon Randall had me on with PC Magazine’s Kyle Monson to talk about netbooks, the Asus Eee PC 1004DN, and the Conficker worm.

You can check out the whole show (it’s less than 10 minutes long and tailored for viewers with short attention spans) after the break. Or you can visit the page for today’s show at TechVi.

Incidentally I was using the webcam on an Eee PC 1000H to record my end of the interview today, although I used an external mic and audio mixer.

    Brad,

Nice background in your video feed. :)
Get any more famous and you will have to create formal set with background.

If it makes you feel any better, I actually forgot to close the closet
door when we started. I made them wait while I unplugged my headphones
and closed it up or you would have seen what my workspace really looks
    like.

And for folks running BIND-9 –

Even people who never heard of *nix or bind-9 are probably running it – ;)
Many of your routers and dsl modems are running bind-9 under Linux -
Getting the tables added into your Internet appliance is a whole different subject -
start by googling for your make/model device support forum.

Scratches head – - Wonders, why start a panic?

That CERT all domains block list can be text edited and included in
your system's “hosts” file (either Linux or Win [and probably MacOSx])

It is a big list, it would slow your machine's Internet access – but you only
would have to run it until you tested for and scrubbed the worm.
I'll start a forum thread on the subject for people who want help poking
    at their “hosts” file.
