granted, their pricing is fairly competitive but you can pick up other machines around that money and the odd rebate special can make something else better value.

if you've ever worked in retail where there are lots of similar products, you'd probably know the 80-20 rule. 20% of a range sells 80% of the sales value. how much easier is to look at the Dell machines and go “9, 10 or 12 inches?”. or Acer “9 or 10?”

for a company sprouting “simplify the line”, there is little evidence the message has started to work it's way thru the company products…
