The default for a GUI program like OOo is to use the system's theme.
Just set OOo to use a 'custom' scheme -
which you can define yourself, use an included one or download your choice
from the net.

Well, you can completely configure the screen to your likings... And you do not just deactivate the taskbar (that would be the windows way of doint things), you completely remove it. You can make the taskbar very small and only like 1/3 of the screen if you like... everything is possible :)

a linux newbie here, Do someone notes an unusual change in OpenOfficce with this theme?
mine changes a lot just for the theme, there goes off the standard edit buttons and a different array of thing with the word processor, just open a document.
Can I dodge this side effect?

Lipstick on a pig.
Gnome is fugly beyond belief and Im not just referring to the Ubuntu caca color selection.
It looks like Win95.

And while I know you can hide the taskbars, who the hell wants TWO taskbars, especially on a 9inch screen.

If this look was the only option, I'd have stuck to Windows.

Yeah, we've got a little "how to get MIE for everyone" community setting up in the forums there...

A theme is a great thing, but still: The complete MIE experience would be amazing. Guess i'll have to try this out myself, too bad that you can't install it on a partition.
