How to charge, and store 32 netbooks at once

netbook-security-cart

Netbooks make great tools for mobile professionals or anyone looking for a cheap light laptop for use around the house or when on the road. But companies like HP, Intel, CTL, and others are also marketing mini-laptops heavily to schools. And I could totally see a school or office place that decides to outfit students or employees with netbooks deciding to pick up Datamation’s new Netbook Security Cart.

The cart holds up to 32 netbooks or subnotebook computers. It doubles as a storage unit and a charging station. And it’s been designed to hold most common netboks including the Dell Inspiron Mini 9, Lenovo IdeaPad S10, MSI Wind, Acer Aspire One, OLPC XO Laptop and the HP Mini-Note series, as well as the many Asus Eee PC models (last time I checked there were around 20 Asus netbooks in the Liliputing Product Database).

You can find more information about the netbook security cart at Datamation’s site (PDF Link).

I am a bit puzzled by that plastic tray in the bottom. . .
Is that what they drain the excess bits from /dev/null into?
A paper tray for the Net-Book printers?
    ;)

Everything old is new again. That cart looks exactly like the recharging/storage cart for NTS DreamWriters used 15 years ago or so.
