[...] Dell launches Inspiron Mini 10 preorders… with QVC — Dell might have made the Inspiron Mini 10 official in the last several days, but the first place you’ll be able to pre-order it is through QVC. This is an interesting partnership and will definitely get the Mini 10 in the sights of those that might not normally come across it. [...]

I was just listening the the Linux Outlaws podcast and apparently, Dell has dropped Ubuntu as an option on most if not all of their computers in the UK.

Just my opinion, but when covering a story about a new computer that is offered with Linux as at least on option, you should follow up and ask *where* that Linux option is offered.

I had expected to buy this netbook when it came out, but the inability to upgrade the memory rules it out. I've laboured before with computer with low to modest memory and have vowed "never again". My must criteria for a netbook include a small size which this Dell unit would just have met and the ability to upgrade the thing (which of course includes memory and disc to solid state).

The last thing I want to get is something which has a satisfaction lifetime of 6 months.

What does that mean? What happens to the 768-576=192 rows of pixels? Does it scale 576 pixels up to 768? LCD screens usually look awful when not running at their native resolution, Can the screen resolution be changed to 768 rows?

The Direct2Dell blog states: "...a 16:9 edge-to-edge display that supports a maximum resolution of 1024 x 768. The default screen resolution is 1024 x 576, which is a better fit for the widescreen display"

Brad's got it right.
