The Dell mini 10 is now also released in the UK, with much the same story.

As a twice Dell customer, I had been looking forward to the Dell mini 10. However, I'm not interested in this release. The Dell mini 10 is not competitive with other makes at present.

Yes, there some tempting items BUT

o Price is excessive after customising away from the very basic spec.!
o Only 1GB memory
o No Solid state memory option
o Low spec. battery option only
o GPS, Screen resolutions & other options already flagged by Dell are not available as options
o There are “promises”/rumours of some of these things being corrected in the indefinite future, so why on earth should potential customers buy this now and be disappointed with it in a few month's time? Does Dell think its customers are crazy? Do they really think they will buy another Dell mini later in the year, or wait while the world marches on?

All this rules the Dell mini 10 out as a serious competitor for my money, especially when combined with its apparent lack of upgrade-ability. A cynical lack I should say in the case at least of the soldered memory and the misleading pre-launch hype

Calling planet Dell! There's a depression on – you have to try harder, you are loosing customers.

Some might buy this thing, but I won't, not unless Dell change their marketing approach before I go with what used to be my Plan B.

Very disappointed.
