Yesterday Dell announced that the Inspiron Mini 10 would be available from home shopping channel QVC in the US. Now Dell has posted its own product page for the company’s first 10 inch netbook. You won’t be able to buy the Mini 10 from Dell until next Thursday, but you can look at pictures and read specs to your heart’s content today.

The netbook has a 10.1 inch display with a 16:9 aspect ratio. At launch you’ll be able to pick up the notebook with a 1024 x 576 pixel display, but eventually Dell plans to offer a screen capable of handling 720p HD video.

thanks Teuron!

Looks like the keyboard is no longer bastardized (the lack of dedicated FN keys was hugely disappointing on the Mini 9), but what's with the HDMI port and no VGA/DVI? Don't get me wrong, I like HDMI – for my stereo and TV. How am I supposed to hook this thing up to a projector or standard monitor?

It's sad that all the cool stuff I was excited about won't even be available on the Mini 10 at launch…

The QVC people raved about watching your videos on it, which can be done, for example, with Dell's remote access software, which they mentioned; but, while I was watching, they didn't mention the lack of DVD players on netbooks. Many reputable retailers do put that fact in their ad copy.
