The Dell Inspiron Mini 10 wasn’t scheduled to be available for order from Dell.com until tomorrow. But while there’s no link from the main page yet, it looks like you can follow a link to the netbook’s order page today. This comes a day after we learned that you could place an order for the latest Dell netbook model over the phone.

There are pretty much no customization options available at the moment. If you order today, you’ll get a mini-laptop with a 1.6GHz Intel Atom Z530 CPU, 160G hard drive, 1GB of RAM, 3 cell, 24Whr battery, and 10.1 inch 1024 x 576 pixel display and Windows XP Home and you’ll like it. Or you’ll order another computer that offers more features at a lower price. This configuration will set you back $474 and has an estimated ship date of April 1st. So maybe it’s all just a joke?

Why do I should buy this machine at $ 474 instead of the EEE PC 1000HE for $ 399?
The EEE has BT, wireless N and 8+ hours of battery….

I totally agree… all of the reasons I wanted to buy the Mini10 are unavailable in this version. I might as well buy an EEE or Wind then, since they're not giving any dates on when the cool stuff will be out.

Dell has come out with a 10 inch model that's months too late and has an inferior, substandard screen. 1024 x 576? Somebody over there just doesn't get it.

Nobody with a brain who has ever used a Netbook with a 10 inch screen would design one with a 1024 x 576 screen. Evidently the people making Netbook product decisions at Dell are clueless idiots.

Hear hear. 16:9 displays on small laptops are idiotic. Are these portable computers or DVD players?
