Asus Eee PC Shell ultra-thin coming in April

Asus is reportedly working on a new thin and light netbook that will be called the Eee PC Shell. According to DigiTimes, the Shell will have a 10.1 inch display, and higher specs than the Eee PC S101. It will reportedly also have better battery life, and be easier to carry. No, I have no idea what that last bit means either.

The netbook is due out in April and will reportedly be available for the equivalent of $486 to $571 in Taiwan. No word on whether this model will make it to the west or how much it will cost if  and when it’s available outside of Taiwan.

The Asus Eee PC S101 is probably one of the best looking members of the Eee PC family, thanks to its slim profile and emphasis on style and design. But it doesn’t have the same kind of battery life you can get from cheaper models like the Eee PC 1000HE.

Oh, the agony of a bad pun….it is called and Eee Shell. Then they put PC in the middle to derail their own pun, so now it is a bad pun off the track down in a ditch. This forced me to make the above metaphor which was equally as poor. This circle of violence on the language centers of our brains must stop!

However, a lighter, slimmer netbook with a 10″ screen sounds awesome.

“The slimmer the better” applies not just to women but to laptops as well. This one is nice for a slim and light version since it has a 10.1 inches screen. But with its name, it doesn't sound too cute if that's what they tried to do.

*Another* model? Haven't Asus muddied the water enough already?

i'd prefer a thicker model with a way better battery life.

i'm sure that i'm not the only one.

Asus needs to ditch models for sure, but they can't stand still they need thin, light devices in their line up to move forward.
