Amazon has joined J&R in accepting preorders for the upcoming Acer Aspire One D150 10 inch netbook. Like J&R, Amazon is charging $349.99 and including free shipping. But while J&R is taking orders for the red, black, white and blue models, Amazon only has a product page for the blue version at the moment.
As expected, the netbook will have a 10.1 inch display, a 1.6GHz Intel Atom N270 CPU, 1GB of RAM,a 160GB hard drive, and a 6 cell battery. It will run Windows XP Home Edition and weigh less than 3 pounds.
thanks Doug!
Does anyone know if they improved the speakers on the D150? I was leaning toward purchasing the Asus 1000H over the 6-cell AAO because of its better sound till I heard about this model.
Unrealistic.
$300 now gets you 8gb ssd, 3 cell battery
$350 will get you a huge hard drive, 6 cell battery, larger screen.
If this is true it will kick the ass of other netbooks
Gawd, I’m lusting over a black one if it’s anything like mine in fit and finish.
Even though my wife would slay me as I just got my 8.9″ AAO 2 months ago, I would buy one of these puppies, IF it had better resolution, even just 1024×768 would make me happy.
I know it’s a requirement forced by Wintel, same with no DVI out, oh well… hopefully that will change soon.
