The folks at Laptop Magazine were some of the first to get their hands on an Acer Aspire One AOD150 netbook. You know, the one with the new 10.1 inch display. And when they posted their review of the laptop a few weeks ago, they reported that the machine got excellent battery life, running for almost 8 hours on a charge.
But a funny thing happened on the way to production. The review unit that Acer sent Laptop Magazine had a 6 cell, 5800mAh battery. The company’s actually shipping 6 cell, 4400mAh batteries to customers who purchase the Aspire One AOD150. And when the reviewers ran th esame battery test, the computer gave up at the 4:24 mark. That’s not bad by last year’s standards. But there are plenty of other netbooks out there that get 6+ hours of battery life. Few are quite as cheap as the $350 Acer Aspire One, but if battery life matters to you, what’s an extra $50 or so?
