Archos has confirmed that the netbook we first spotted a few weeks ago is indeed real. And as far as I can tell, it’s a rebranded Hasee MJ125 netbook. The two machines look the same and have pretty much the same specs, including:

  • CPU: 1.6GHz Intel Atom N270
  • Display: 10.2 inch, 1024 x 600 pixels
  • RAM: 1GB
  • Storage: 160GB HDD
  • OS: Windows XP
  • Connectivity: 802.11b/g WiFi, Ethernet
  • Expansion: 3 USB ports, 4-in-1 card reader, VGA output
  • Battery: 3 cells
  • Dimensions: 10″  x7.4″ x 1.1″
  • Weight: 2.9 pounds

Archos is apparently calling the netbook the Archos 10. There’s no word on pricing or availability yet.

Update: Laptop Magazine reports that Archos is leveraging  its multimedia background and loading the Archos 10 up with a unique set of software including a fully licensed copy of vTuner, which allows quick and easy access to thousands of internet TV and radio stations. Buyers also get a $50 credit for the Archos Media Club which will allow them to buy downloadable media.  The netbook will reportedly cost abotu $399 at launch, or $449 if you opt for a version with a 6 cell battery. You should be able to pick up an Archos 10 starting in February.
