Turn your Eee PC into a tablet with the Aeeeris kit

aeeeris kit

Like the idea of carrying around a tiny laptop with a 7 inch display but wish that it had a touchscreen and came in a tablet format instead of a more traditional clamshell laptop design? After many months in development, a hardware hacker has put together a kit for converting an Asus Eee PC 701 into a tablet style computer.

You’ll need to pick up an Eee PC and a touchscreen on your own, but the Aeeeris kit will let you scoop out the guts of your netbook and put them into a tablet-style frame. The kit costs $60, and if you shop wisely, you can probably find a touschreen for around $40, which means you can build your own Tablet PC for around $400 or less, which is a lot less money than you’d pay for most tablet PCs on the market.

It would be a good idea to actually finish the product before publishing or selling.

This really makes me want to buy an eee even though i just bought the mini 9.

too bad their website is horrible though, I can't stand sites based entirely in flash.

Yeah the maker of the product said he coded that Aeeeris website by himself, when it is an obvious free crappy flash template. This is just one of his lies, read more at eeeuser.com, he is a pathological liar and now a rip-off artist by lying about the product and not taking care of his customers with legitimate complaints.

Stay away! It is NOT a kit and NOT worth $60, you'd end up with a better product if you made your own and it would take just as much time as the “kit”
