We’ve already seen plenty of extended batteries for the Asus Eee PC and other netbooks. These batteries are designed to provide as much as 2-3 times the battery life you’d get from the standard batteries that ship with these computers. But they also tend to be really large, adding substantial weight to these tiny laptops and in some cases propping up the keyboard at uncomfortable angles.
A member of the EeeUser Forums found a 10 cell, 13000mAh battery for Asus Eee PC 901 or 1000 series netbooks that avoids the height problem in a rather intriguing (and ugly) way – by extending out horizontally past the edge of the laptop.
The battery would looks a lot better when paired with an Asus Eee PC 1000 which is wider than the Eee PC 901. But apparently the battery is designed to work with both laptops and is capable of providing up to 10 hours of battery life.
