The Asus Eee PC 1002HA is now shippin in the US. At least two retailers, Buy.com and ZipZoomFly are carrying the successor to the Eee PC 1000H, with prices running around $495 to $499. Both companies list the netbook as out of stock at the moment, but since Asus has said it plans to ship the computer in early December, it might not be a bad time to put in a pre-order.

The Asus Eee PC 1002HA has the same basic specs as the 1000H, including a 10.2 inch, 1024 x 600 pixel display, a 1.6GHz Intel Atom CPU, 1GB of RAM, and a 160GB hard drive. But it also comes in a thinner and lighter case with a smaller battery which Asus says will last about 4 hours per charge.
