Prime Note Cartina UM

Japan’s Dospara is offering a limited edition netbook called the Prime Note Cartina UM, which seems to have all the standard specs you’d expect in a 39,980 yen ($415US) netbook:

  • CPU: 1.6GHz Intel Atom CPU
  • Display: 8.9 inch, 1024 x 600 pixels
  • Storage: 120GB HDD
  • RAM: 1GB
  • Operating System: Linux, with Windows XP driver disk
  • Webcam: 1.3MP
  • Connectivity/Expansion: 3-in-1 card reader, 802.11b/g WiFi
  • Dimensions: 250mm x 183mm x 28.5mm or about 9.8″ x 7.2″ x 1.1″
  • Weight: 1.1kg or about 2.4 pounds

DosPara only has 30 units in stock and is calling the Prime Note Cartina UM a limited edition netbook. But I wouldn’t be surprised to see it pop up elsewhere under a different name. It’s not really worth an ODM’s time and money to produce just 30 units, or even just 3,000 units of any netbook.
