I have run out of memory on my C drive but have 80GB available on my D drive. How do I use the D drive or how can I change the partition sizes?

So as a linux user i should make sure i never buy from Sony and should make sure i make that clear to anyone that asks about who to buy new hardware from. Does the machine work with linux? Exe files are very vulnerable to malware so Sony are encouraging people to choose risky formats!1

Just noticed today - Play.com seems to be honoring the UK price drop and now lists the NC10 at £299.99. Presumably this will apply to preorders already taken.

> it should take about 2 seconds to upgrade the laptop’s 1GB of RAM

I'm not sure what you would upgrade it to though. The specification page in that e-manual (page 157) states that 1GB is the most the netbook can handle. It's possible that the "paper" specifications have been dumbed down a little to comply with the XP Home license restrictions. Or maybe the device ships with artificial limits which will be removed in a later firmware update (as we have seen from other vendors). Even so, I think I'll wait and see how other upgraders get on before jumping in myself.

Another interesting thing to note on the specs page - there are three display options:
- 10.2" 1024x600
- 8.9" 1024x600
- 10.1" 1024x576
Presumably the last two will be released later in a lower-cost model.

I was hoping the manual would reveal a little more about the HDD and how easy it would be to replace. It appears to be a standard 2.5" SATA unit but there are no instructions on how to get to it. I assume it will probably be a down-through-the-keyboard job. 8GB and 16GB SSD versions of the NC10 were also mentioned - the SSD modules utilise the standard SATA connector and sit in the HDD bay, so they should be as easy to swap out as a standard HDD.
